Every year, our second-year Telecommunications and Computer Maintenance students trade their desks for a real-world broadcast studio! The Lycée Technique Sainte Marie (LTSM) team organizes a special field trip to the TERIMBERE FM radio transmitter station in Gitega, the political capital of Burundi.
The goal of the trip is simple: to bring our technical classroom lessons to life. Our students get a firsthand look at the inner workings of a live radio station, exploring everything from broadcasting equipment and transmission systems to complex technical setups.
It is always an incredibly enriching experience that beautifully bridges theory and practice. Seeing these systems in action does exactly what we hope it will—it sparks a fresh wave of motivation in our students, inspiring them to dive even deeper into their tech, maintenance, and telecom skills!
